This is a fast paced and totally engrossing story that has all the elements I love in a good story line: action, adventure, romance, a beautiful setting, strong characters, tough choices, and leaves you wanting more. Gabriela's character is unique because of her upbringing by parents who were forced to leave their country by the Castro regime in Cuba. The effect this had on her colors all of her thoughts and actions throughout the book. All of her beliefs about herself are challenged in this story - especially her belief in her husband and their marriage. I was totally captivated by Gabriela and Richard's relationship and want to know more! Will they reunite in a sequel? The action adventure part of the book is equally creative and compelling. I would read anything by this author.
